Bali Nine investigation almost complete
Tuesday, May 31, 2005 (UMST)

Indonesian police plan to make nine Australians accused of smuggling heroin re-enact the final hours before their arrest in Bali last month.

The suspects will be taken from their jail cells and made to retrace the steps they took in the final hours before their arrests on April 17.

Bali police said the re-enactment was a final part of their investigation.

"It's almost finished," said Colonel Bambang Sugiarto of the Bali police anti-drug squad.

"It is about 90 per cent completed. We are planning a re-enactment."

Indonesian often stage re-enactments at the tail end of investigations. Media are usually invited to the event.
