SCHAPELLE CORBY

Corby rapped
Wednesday, September 07, 2005 (UMST)

RAPPERS Weapon X and Ken Hell mock Schapelle Corby's drug bust in a new video clip, Melbourne’s Herald Sun reports today.

The antipodean hip-hoppers re-enact Corby's nightmare arrest in Sneakerpimpin' Ain't Easy.

"We take the piss out of Schapelle basically," X, real name Xavier Millis, told the newspaper.

"It shows us coming through Customs with a boogie-board bag full of sneakers.”

“And like Schappelle, we get caught," said Hell.

Schapelle Corby is doing 20 years in a Bali jail. She was arrested after Indonesian officials found marijuana in her boogie-board bag at Denpasar airport.

Hell says: "We wanted to do the Schapelle thing because it pokes a bit of fun and stirs it up."

The clip shows X and Hell stalked by authorities as they bring fresh trainers to the people.

But do X and Hell expect a backlash for lampooning Corby?

Millis: "We take the piss, we do gags and, honestly, it's the Australian way.”

Hell: "If I got busted like Schapelle, I'd be sad. But I'd also feel like an idiot for getting caught."

X and Hell are getting national airplay for their video Otherman, which sees them slyly sleeping their way around a new Melbourne suburb.
